2014 Girls' Camp Ideas! :D

GIRLS' CAMP!
I just got called as YCL and I am pumped and humbled all at once! Here are some cute camp ideas I found online; some of them are general and some of them are geared to my stake's theme of "Come Unto Christ".
Watch the 15-in-5 video for ideas. This is a 5 minute video with 15 ideas for girls' camp. (I made it myself. hehe :D)

Here are the resources I promised in the video:

  • CANDY BAR MEN ACTIVITY LINK
  • SCRIPTURE CARD EXAMPLES BELOW
  •  LOST & FOUND BUCKET LABEL

  • GRATITUDE POSTER LABEL
Scripture Cards (or PJS Patterns) EXAMPLES
**Scripture cards are a way to do PJS. You hand out a card like this every day for PJS as an option for the Young Women to study during PJS time. One way to do scripture cards is to base them off of the girls’ camp theme. Here are a few examples you can feel free to use. **
Day One PJS: Virtue
“Sometimes as we walk life’s paths, we want to loiter in dangerous places, thinking that it is fun and thrilling and that we are in control. Sometimes we think we can live on the edge and still maintain our virtue. But that is a risky place to be. As the Prophet Joseph Smith told us, “Happiness is the object and design of our existence; and will be the end thereof, if we pursue the path that leads to it; and this path is virtue” (History of the Church, 5:134–35).” – Sister Elaine S. Dalton, Cherish Virtue, March 2009 New Era.
Read and ponder the following scriptures. Take notes in your journal or in the margin. Jot down some commitments you will make in order to stay virtuous. Ask yourself why virtue is so important and write your response as well.
*      Doctrine & Covenants 25: 2 & 13
*      Doctrine & Covenants 121: 45-46
*      Article of Faith 13
*      Proverbs 3:15
*      Moroni 9:9
*      Revelation 3:4

Day Two PJS: Come Unto Christ
“The words ‘come unto Christ’ are an invitation. It is the most important invitation you could ever offer to another person. It is the most important invitation anyone could accept.” —President Henry B. Eyring, First Counselor in the First Presidency
As you ponder the quote above and the scriptures listed below, take time to write a few goals you have to become more Christlike and to “come unto Christ”. Why is it so important to come unto Christ? What are ways you can come unto Christ? What are some sins that keep you from coming to Christ? What do you have to sacrifice when you come to Christ, and what do you gain from doing so?

o   D&C 20:59
o   Omni 1:26
o   Jacob 1:27
