Personal Progress Project Ideas...?

We've all been there.  It seems the easy part of Personal Progress is doing the experiences.  Choosing the project you will do for each value can be a hard but very rewarding process.  If you follow the Holy Ghost's guidance, you will be able to successfully find a project that will leave a wonderful influence on your life and help others in the process.

Need some ideas?...Here are some things I have done for my Personal Progress.

-Family Search: I know this one is fairly common, but it is one of the most rewarding projects I've ever done.  1. Go onto Family Search.  2. Put in as many family names as possible, go to the Family History Centers, etc.  3.  Take the names to the temple.  This project is hard.  It truly is.  It takes a lot of patience.  But there is nothing in this world like the feeling you get from "getting to know" your ancestors.  I know personally it has changed my life.  I promise you that all the hard work is worth it for this project!  (Contact a Geneology Specialist in your ward for assistance, if needed.)

-Fashion Show:  I did this project for my Choice & Accountability Project.  I absolutely loved it!  The Spirit was strong, the girls were touched, and now it is going to become a ward tradition!  1. Double check with your Young Women's President about this.  Try to reserve the gym in a stake center/church building if possible.  2.  Organize a committee.  Treat this like a presidency.  Pray for guidance about who to ask to join.  Ask for volunteers as well.  3. It will take a lot of preparation.  Hold meetings, listen to the Spirit, and pray for guidance on how to best help your girls.  4.  Put it on!  We had several different categories in our ward, with several "Young Women" models per category.  For example: Church, Prom, School, we even did Pajamas!  Show slideshows, give little talks, play church music/Christian contemporary.  This has been one of the most influential and positive Mutual activities we've had!

-Future Career...Future Career...Future: I want to be a teacher, so for my Knowledge project, I teacher-assisted at an elementary school.  Try to do something that you are interested in.  Volunteer.  Work.  Contribute.  This can be really fun, and it helps you prep for your future career.

-Did I hear you say fundraiser?: No, I don't mean raise funds for that beautiful red Farrari you're dying for!  I am currently working on raising money for Primary Children's Hospital.  How?  I am organizing a "Girls' Fest," at which homemade contributed items will be sold.  Proceeds will go to the hospital!

Have any ideas you'd like to share?  Well, SHARE THEM PLEASE!  Leave a comment.
